Many young people as well as non-traditional students desire to improve their education by attending college; however, with tuition becoming more exorbitant, many students do not have the opportunity to do so. With free tuition, more aspiring individuals would receive the chance to go to college. Students would be able to focus more on their education instead of paying for college. Every citizen would have an equal opportunity to receive a college level education. The population would be educated, enhancing the workforce and boosting the economy. Free tuition should be implemented throughout the United States.
With free tuition, students would be able to focus more on studies instead of worrying about finances. Students would not need to rely on a part time job or student loans in order to pay their way through university. Total stress levels of students would decrease as students would have more time to engage in extracurricular activities. The chance of work hours and professors’ office hours conflicting would decrease, so struggling students would be able to get the help they desire at a more reasonable time. Students would also have a greater duration of time to do school work or study. Free tuition would not only increase students’ focus on education, but it would also grant opportunities to potential students. Free tuition would also allow qualified underprivileged individuals to pursue a college level education. People who are financially unable to pay for college would receive the same opportunity to attend college as those who are privileged. Young adults with potential would no longer be hindered by their economic state to get into college. With free tuition, more people would receive higher education, leading to a more intelligent populace.
Free tuition would be a great investment for the government. The government would be investing in future doctors, nurses, lawyers, and various other professions. A highly educated populace is equal to a highly efficient workforce. This would benefit the economy tremendously. Various countries such as Norway, Sweden, and Germany, nations with booming economies, have dissolved tuition and have implemented state funded colleges and have prospered greatly from doing so.
Free college tuition should be enacted. Doing so would benefit all students tremendously. Students would focus more on their education, low-income students would not have to worry about paying for college, and the United States’ human resources would prove to be much more efficient from free tuition.
