Sex Trafficking in The Context of The Spread of Prostitution

Prostitution is to obtain material rewards (money, gifts), in exchange for a price or a cost of acceptance of the contract with the object of sex is not fixed. Simple understanding is to charge sexual behaviour. Traditionally, this has involved some kind of direct physical contact. However, with the revolution in electronic technology and the popularity of the Internet, new forms of prostitution have emerged: from ‘Phone Sex’ to interactive visual contact via the Internet and mobile phones, thus changing the traditional perception of the occurrence of substantive sexual contact as a criterion. Prostitution is prevalent in Japan, Thailand, India and other countries. Prostitution activities can be divided into prostitutes and male prostitutes. Prostitution is one of the earliest professions in the world.

Prostitutes refer to women who have received professional training and have professional service skills to engage in erotic services and belong to the entertainment industry. A prostitute is a woman who accepts money from a man and gives him sexual satisfaction. In the industry, its professional status is higher than that of ‘whoring’, because its professional quality and artistic level are higher than that of only selling ‘whoring’, so the fee is higher than that of ‘whoring’. Male prostitution is an ancient profession; there have been a large number of male prostitutes since ancient times. Male prostitutes refer to men who engage in the sex industry and provide sexual services, or ‘niulang’, ‘duck’, The duck that has the most customers and is liked by them the most is the “duck king”. Also known as MB (money boy), commonly known as duck, refers to a man who provides paid sex services. General handsome male prostitutes, but also good at sweet words, in front of the male guest or the female guest show tender, considerate, some single, not harmonious sex life with your partner or partner neglected, or partner cheating men or women will be looking for a male prostitute, in addition to meet the sexual desire, also as a spiritual solace, or as for revenge unfaithful partner. Where there is demand, there is a market, and so is the generation of male prostitutes. With the emergence of private ownership and the development of social economy, the pursuit of male courtesans by the wealthy promoted the emergence of male prostitutes.

At the same time, some unmarried people go to prostitutes to satisfy their sexual desire. Some young and beautiful men, for livelihood or other reasons, will sell their bodies, become male prostitutes. Male prostitutes generally meet the sexual needs of their clients, whether male or female. In Thailand, male heterosexuals are usually served by transvestites with male reproductive organs. Male prostitutes who provide sex to gay men are known as ‘Money boys’ in China, and ‘go-go-boys’ in Japan and Thailand. Japan has one of the largest porn markets in the world, and it calls it the ‘custom industry.’ The industry is estimated to be worth about $90 billion a year.

In Japan, ‘custom street’ can be seen everywhere near stations, which is enough to show the acceptance and tolerance of the porn industry. In Japan, some AV male actors double as male prostitutes to increase their income. KORNRAWEE PANYASUPPAKUN: IT IS AN open secret that, despite being illegal, prostitution is widely practised in Thailand. That striking gulf between the law and reality illustrates the need to amend the laws and decriminalise the sex trade, panellists at a recent seminar said. (EXPERT) Thailand’s approach to sex work was to criminalize it under the Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act 1996 and article 286 of the criminal code. Prostitution, pimping and the operation of ‘prostitution institutions’ are prohibited by law. However, the data show that this approach has not worked. The number of prostitutes in Thailand is estimated to range from 800,000 to more than two million, many of them under the age of 18.

Moreover, prostitution is thriving in the form of massage parlors, bathhouses, beer bars, karaoke bars and nightclubs maintained by corrupt law enforcement officials. Prostitution is prohibited by law, which is illegal. Prostitution and whoring are more likely to infect sexually transmitted diseases, syphilis, hepatitis b, AIDS, and other diseases.

WHERE DOES THIS PROBLEM HAPPEN RAPIDLY?

Penury There are also these poor children, who have not received an education, so the probability of being cheated into this industry is very high. Some girls need money because they have no choice. For example, the family is in urgent need of money, and they encounter serious illness or their siblings need money for study and other problems. Some girls want to live a good life on their own. In this world, money is not everything, but you can’t do without it. People sell their bodies for money to make money, that’s why there’s so much prostitution. Prostitution is a quick way to make money. And the prostitution syndicate is to see the weakness of these girls and then lure these girls into the prostitution industry.

The prostitution rings will lie to the girls, tell them, ‘they can do a few months, when they earn enough money then quit’. In fact, these groups will not put people, also have a plenty of girl is not willing to quit, she has been accustomed to this kind of way to make money, think that there’s nothing wrong, as long as profitable. These poor girls enter this industry, and make some money, they will want to make more money, to make themselves and their families live more better. And those bad prostitution rings will not let these girls free, these girls are their cash cows, without these girls, who will help them make money. There is a Japanese film about a gambler’s mother who owes money at usury and often gambles on prostitution. But because of old age, falling market prices, prostitution does not earn enough money to live on and pay usury. So, bring your daughter into the business and make money for her. This mother can sell her bottom line of conscience for money, sell her daughter.

The Law Protects Women Unfairly As a code of conduct, law provides people with a certain mode of behaviour, which can guide them to do this, must do this or must not do this, and thus has an impact on the behaviour of the actor himself. However, laws in some places do not protect well of women, resulting in the inferior status of women in the region, being bullied by others and failing to get the protection of laws. That is India. India is a country that has a very strong preference for boys. They think girls are wasted money. They don’t want to have daughters. Girls who survive, if they live in poor families, are more likely to be sold by their parents to prostitution groups. The girls were forced into prostitution. Because Indian laws protects to women unfairly, many Indian girls lead extremely difficult lives.

Prostitution is legal in India. Soliciting customers in public places or owning or operating brothels, hotel prostitution, child prostitution, pimping and a series of other related activities are illegal. Indian law is vague about prostitution itself. Under Indian law, prostitutes are allowed to do their jobs in private but are not legally allowed to solicit customers in public. However, some articles have mentioned that prostitution is illegal in India. Indian law does not call the sale of one’s sexual services ‘prostitution’. Clients may be punished for having sex near a public place. Organized prostitution such as brothels, prostitution syndicates, pimps, etc., is illegal. As long as individuals voluntarily engage in prostitution, women can use their bodies for material gain, while no Indian law recognizes male prostitution. Sex workers are not protected by normal Labour laws. Over the years, as the threat of HIV/AIDS has grown, India has increasingly demanded that prostitution be legalized to prevent middlemen from exploiting sex workers and their children.

National chaos Among the former Soviet republics s, Moldova is the most unfortunate. Since the country’s independence, the economy has never recovered as much as the sunset. About a quarter of the country’s population is unemployed, and people live in dire straits. According to experts’ estimates, 400,000 women in the small Moldovan country were forced to become prostitutes, which accounted for 10% of the country’s total female population In the vast south-eastern Europe, a sex-based trade spreads like a flower in full bloom. Thousands of women from poor areas of the former Soviet Union were used here as sex slaves. They were kidnapped, deceived, blackmailed, and under the coercion of death, hunger and poverty, they became sex slaves, mostly victims of the head of the Balkans, some of them were sold to Amsterdam, Hamburg and other places, while others disappeared.

In Europe, once there is chaos, that area immediately becomes the European smuggling channel. From the former Soviet Union to the former Yugoslavia, from Northern Ireland to Turkey, from Albania to Paris in today’s turmoil, this is true. Ethnic contradictions, the gap between the rich and the poor, foreign interference, and the disintegration of the country have led to economic collapse, and the most unfortunate and tormented are the poor women.

Low female status Prostitutes are actually socially disadvantaged groups. Most of them have weak technical skills, low social status and poor living environment. These are not only the cause of their illegal pursuit of economic interests, but also enable them to continue the identity of the weak in commercial transactions. Moreover, due to certain injustices and prejudices in society, they are actually people who are marginalized.

Prostitution women grew up in a country with a patriarchal thought. Because she did not have a boy, her mother swallowed her life in her father’s war. In a city far from the family, she is unaccompanied, she has no penny and no skills, she only earns a living by sex. The survey found that, unlike men, marital violence is an important cause of women’s illegal crimes, even the ‘invisible hand’ that directly pushes women into crimes. The lack of family affinity resulting from the incompleteness and incompetence of the family/marriage structure led to 16.45% of parents/husbands supporting or forcing or not asking their daughter/wife for commercial sexual services. Most of the respondents felt that family life was less fun and lack of warmth. As a result, many people have to or must go outside the family to find fun, look for warmth, and fall into the sex trade with the opposite sex.

WHY HAPPEN RAPIDLY (EGOCENTRISM)

Nowadays, the importance of money has been deeply imprinted on people’s minds. People can always solve the problem of money, and can sell anything, including pure body. Many unskilled people or people who enjoy easy work and then earn a high income tend to look for easy and rewarding work, so they choose to be a prostitute. These people are often raised without formal education; do not understand why it is important to protect their body. There are also some people who are in the rebellious stage and believe that everything should be tried. However, in their mind, being a sex worker cannot only earn extra income, but also experience the fun of it. Therefore, they all step into this industry, and it is difficult to get out of it at the end. Some people fall in love with the feeling to having sex with someone they’ve tried before. Over time, these people will often fall into the state of unable to extricate them, often eager to have sex with others. In order to satisfy this physical need, these people who can’t control their desires will step into this industry and make physical transactions to satisfy themselves. One of the biggest reasons people enter the business of carnal trading is that they are treated inhumanly when they are young, such as rape and kidnapping.

Nowadays, the crime rate is more and more high, people can do anything for money, even for money, they can do something against the law. Some people just kidnap children and let them make money for themselves, regardless of their lives. These children are forced to use their bodies to make money for the organization from an early age. They have no childhood, only endless dark and painful memories. Even when grow up, the children have been out of the organization’s control, but because was implanted into the painful memories, no skills, to know just by the body to make money, and since the childhood has been inhuman treatment and so on his body has not value, so many people will choose to step into prostitution. In addition, nowadays many people can’t control their desires and choose to satisfy them by committing crimes.

Through the news, it can be known that rape has occurred in many countries, whether poor or rich, especially in Indonesia and the Middle East, where women have a low status. These people often choose weak women to attack them, so that they are physically and mentally irreparable damage, these damage is often constituted by girl’s depravity, and become an important reason for prostitution. Because they’ve been hurt, and then a lot of women choose to hide the truth, because once revealed, the reputation is destroyed, for the sake of dignity, so choose to lock up these painful memories, and began to depravity into prostitution. Branda myers-powell, who was raped and kidnapped as a child, became a prostitute for 30 years. She shared her pain with the world, because she hoped that all people who had been hurt in the same way could be brave enough to get rid of their pain and face the society optimistically. She reveals that if they cannot get rid of their pain, they will continue to degenerate due to egocentrism, and then they will become a tool of earning money and giving vent to their desires.

Prostitution happens rapidly, there are many reasons that forces people worked as a sex worker, and the biggest reason is the money. Prostitution have happen in every place in this world, and very ironically is prostitution is one of the oldest “job” in the world, it started from human civilization, and in that time, prostitution has become a job is because people are poor and for female sex worker is because female have not support and power to say no to the perpetrator, they did not treat female like a human being in that time because in that old time is patriarchal, men have very power to do what they like, female cannot do anything before the men allow. And now is 2018, very shame to said but prostitution still happen and still because the same reason. Have human mind develop or still keeping the old thought? Look in the sociocentrism side, the social think that prostitution is a normal “job” in nowadays, and this is the the most serious part, if people use to it, they will think this is not a big deal. We can saw a lot of prostitution case in news but people did not show big concern, why?

Prostitution is illegal, but people not really care about it, people did not try to solve the problem just let it happen again and again. For example, the place that “famous” in prostitution, Thailand, Cambodia, this place are 100% illegal to prostitution, but there are the country that famous in sexual tourism but it is totally illegal. But government did not have any action, people did not have any action, they just let it happen, because prostitution is profitable, that why they just let is happen, so is the law works, I don’t think so. For the sex workers, some of them do have choose, but some did not.

Most of the sex workers are forces to be in this job, and the biggest reason is poverty. Many poverty families even sold their child to get money, and if is a girl, most of them will become a sex worker. They have no choose. Once became a sex worker, the social will not treat them as a normal person, they will think them is filthy and discriminate against them. They can’t even protect themself if things happen, if today somebody rape a women that used to be a sex worker, will people trust her or the person who rape her? People think that they are filthy, but why will they became the prostitute? Ia because the world did not give them chance to choose their life, they have to accept they life that forces to live, that why prostitution happen.

Suggestion on how to overcome this social issue Nowadays, prostitution is a social issue facing by public and bring serious consequences such as man exploitation of women. So, to ensure that have a harmony society, it should step to eradicate prostitution while protect the public and some innocent people. There are some suggestions to overcome this social issue. First of all, the government should enforce the law. For example, those people who run the prostitution should be imprisoned and given counselling to them. Besides the people who run prostitution need to accept punishments, the person who be the customers to order hooker also need to take a laws punishment.

The laws should be setting to both side of people who doing prostitution. In Malaysia, for a Muslim who subscribe prostitutes may be put in to practice for committing sin. In addition, government also may set rules to stop operating night clubs and entertainment centre or restrict the business hours. Based on study, many prostitution occurred in these places and some companies provided sexual service to the customers. Thus, it is also a way to solve this issue. Destiny Rescue is an organisation to rescue people who are be prostitution especially on children. They suggested that should have a prostitution prevention programs and believe that prevention is better than the cure. They go to poor villages and slums to find out ‘at risk’ families like who are poor, not education or in debt. Once find the persons, they provided school and give them education while giving them vocational training so they can find a good job, thus helping them to have more choices other than prostitution. Besides that, they also offer education and different awareness training to parents and public, by making the parents aware of the wilful practices of the traffickers and the terrible conditions the child would have to endure. In case, it also let them know about the risk of HIV and other diseases if their children run prostitution.

Furthermore, except government and social volunteer organisation came out solution to help those people who run prostitution, companies also need to provide opportunities for those people. For example, they can assist these poor families through various development programs aiding them in becoming self-support. It is through small business loan, pig breeding, agricultural training or so on. Those companies may hire them as normal workers while avoiding people to run prostitution.
