Some people believe World War II started in 1937 when Japan invaded China. Others think it started in 1939 when Germany invaded Poland. The War officially started in 1939. Hitler was a brave soldier in World War I, he was awarded the iron cross which stood for bravery in the war. In October 1923 Hitler and his henchmen attempted an armed coup against the Weimar government. He was sentenced to 9 months. In prison, he wrote a book called Mein Kampf which meant, my struggle. When he was released he started to build the Nazis into a political party. He chose to use the democratic system to take control. Hitler saw his opportunity in October 1929 when the U.S, the stock market crashed. He had the opportunity to take control and recruit the people that had just lost their jobs. In January 1933 President Hindenburg made him Chancellor. A month after he became a powerful leader, communists burned down the Reichstag. Hitler demanded emergency powers. People thought Hitler was gonna use emergency powers to punish the communists. He ended up taking over and getting rid of all the political parties. After President Hindenburg died in August 1934, Hitler declared himself be President. He now had absolute control over Germany. Hitler then spent the next five years rebuilding Germany’s economy. In secret, he was spending money on huge rearmament.
The Versailles Treaty that ended warfare It prohibited military aviation in Germany, but a German civilian airline–Lufthansa–was founded in 1926 and provided flight training for the lads who would later become Luftwaffe pilots. The Germans began sending troops into Poland and captured two large cities. The Polish were extremely out-numbered. The Germans sent the Einsatzgruppen, a special group of Nazis, to round-up anyone who could pose a threat within the future or anyone that was considered inferior, like the Jews. Most of the Jews were forced into Ghettos, but some were executed directly. within the ghetto, the Jews were starved and worked to death. 50,000 of the Polish soldiers escaped and fled to France, where they prepared to travel back to fight. Brits, French, and Polish began preparing for air-raids. They came upon anti-aircraft guns in big cities, built shelters, and also the children got evacuated. Everyone had to hold gas masks with them and black-outs were introduced in cities to lower pilots’ sense of where people were. In Germany, people were celebrating Hitler’s success in capturing a whole country in but 4 weeks.
Hitler had realized that the Germans might not keep him as their leader so he created a fictional personality to satisfy them. Before the war, there were about 9.5 million Jewish people that lived in Europe. Hitler was pointing to clues that he was gonna commit mass genocide. Hitler’s plan was to kill all imperfect jews. He only wanted to have whites with blonde hair and blue eyes. Then, he decided that the Nazi’s have to kill all jews. Hitler decided to gather up all the Jews Move them to the east and work them to death. His plan was to kill eleven million Jews. Hitler wanted to make the world perfect. He captured a lot of Jews and sent them to ghettos to be starved, killed, and gassed. Many Jews were attacked and killed. The mass killings that were committed at the time were called genocides.
The jews were tortured, starved, gassed, and conclusively murdered. The final solution was Hitler’s campaign to keep all perfect people and kill the rest. At the time he thought the perfect people had the features of blonde hair and blue eyes. But the problem soon progressed into just killing all Jews. Hitler leads everyone to believe that Jewish people are bad.
