Boxer and Snowball in Orwell'S Animal Farm: The Only Appropriate Leaders

Imagine future England, where many more animal communities existed all in peace andorder. With the best generation of technology and crops, wouldn’t that be glamorous? Thatwould be what Animal Farm, a book written by George Orwell, evolved into if the two animals Boxer and Snowball were leaders of Animal Farm as political duo. Unfortunately, the farm had a different leader who took the farm on a wrong turn. The other animals like the sheep and birdsare dumb. The other pigs are far too greedy, Benjamin has a bad attitude. The dogs don’t likereading anything other than the 7 commandments. And the cat does not have the smarts or traitsof a leader, leaving Boxer and Snowball as the only appropriate leaders.

Snowball is intelligent, organized, and brave which makes him a superior leader to all the other pigs. Snowball is clearly intelligent because on page 49 the second paragraph he designed a Windmill which is a big feat; on page 57 it says that a special committee of pigs designed the windmill after Snowball’s expulsion, meaning it took many pigs to do what snowball, did proving his smarts. Additionally Snowball is brave, a trait required for any leader to do what isnecessary and power through every situation which snowball did in “Jones saw him coming, raised his gun and fired. The pellets scored bloody streaks down Snowball’s back” showing that Snowball got shot. After Snowball got shot on page 42 it says”without halting for an instant, Snowball flung his 15 stone against Jones’s legs” evidently showing that Snowball even though shot kept fighting against Jones which is the true mark of a hero. Moreover Snowball is organized. As on page 32 it says “Snowball also buried himself with organizing the other animals into what he called animal committees” which helps the animals overall and makes processes quicker and easier. Snowball, over all covers most of the great traits of a leader.

Boxer, the other member of the political duo is the leader that inspires. Is loyal (a great role model attribute), and is stronger than any other animal on the farm. On page 29 it says “but now he seemed more like 3 horses than 1” while describing Boxer after the rebellion undoubtedly shows his strength. Boxer is loyal because he did whatever his leader Napoleon told him to do without any questions asked proved by “and from then on he adopted the maxim, “Napoleon is always right” which shows his loyalty to Napoleon. Since Boxer is loyal he can ensure a long lasting community without betrayals of any kind which is a great thing. Lastly, Boxer is inspiring.

Together, Boxer and Snowball are the best leaders of the farm and together they would be even better by covering up for each other’s shortcomings: Boxer is not very smart, Snowball is smart; Snowball isn’t very strong, Boxer is very strong. Boxer would have great chemistry with Snowball because Boxer is caring; Boxer is friends with the crankiest animal on the farm, on page 43 Boxer says “he is dead’ said Boxer sorrowfully. ‘I had no intention of doing that” showing he is so sad for killing a human being no matter the pain they inflicted upon Boxer. Furthermore Boxer, on page 4 it says “Boxer and Clover, came in together. Walking very slowly and setting down their vast hairy hoofs with great care lest there should be some small animalconcealed in the straw” shows that he is caring because he doesn’t want to hurt anything.

Boxer and Snowball both have their weaknesses, as all things do, but, they are protected or made up for. Boxer is not smart and can easily be persuaded and tricked, but with snowball aiding him he will become smarter and less vulnerable. Snowball is a pig so he is not very strong and can easily be attacked by dogs and enemy animals but with Boxer no harm may be done to Snowball.

Smarts, Strength, inspiration, and many more great personality traits dominate the Boxer and Snowball political duo making it superior to other possible leaders. Without doubt the Snowball and Boxer duo would be the best leaders of the farm for numerous more reasons. If the Boxer and Snowball political duo really happened and so did Animal Farm, the world now would be more different than ever.
